Are We All Afraid Of Being Irrelevant?
You decide what is irrelevant or not.
I need to confess; I am afraid of being irrelevant. I think, deep down, every human being is. Being irrelevant means more than not being important because it also means being disconnected from what is going on. In a world where everything is about being well-connected, being irrelevant is a nightmare.
At the same time that we can say that all lives are relevant as we are all connected to a bigger purpose, we can also say that most lives are irrelevant, that when you die, the world will keep going without you.
These perceptions of being a human being can put us in the centre of everything, like a vital piece of the puzzle that won’t be complete without one piece, or can just make us feel like a replaceable piece that in absence can actually make space for others to readjust and fill the empty space.
The reality is that we decide what we want to believe, and sometimes we can feel that we are connected to the world we live in and other times we can feel we aren’t.
