Can Money Buy Confidence?

Because money is not the end, but the means.

One of the comments that one of my latest articles received was that money doesn’t buy confidence. And I have to disagree. I believe that money does buy confidence, but not the confidence that comes from within, but the confidence that results from external factors. I also believe that money is not the end but the means. Money by itself is nothing; what you do with money is everything.

For some of you who read my articles for a while, you know I am a Brazilian immigrant living in the UK. Not long ago, I was living on benefits and am now working to create my first ever Emergency Fund. So this is my background and where I am coming from.

First, it’s important to define what confidence is. Confidence is a state of mind when you know how to choose something for the best of your interests. Self-confidence is having trust in yourself that you will choose something for the best of your interests.

Confidence is also related to how we show ourselves to the world. Some people are naturally more confident than others, even if they have money or not. It’s something that they are born with. Also, many external things can affect our confidence levels.
