Having Money Is Not About Being A Good Person

Maybe being a good person is what keeps me poor.

Being raised as a Christian that actually enjoyed learning about Jesus and going to church classes, I believed that being a good person would result in having a good life, and to have a good life, you need money. I always thought that I would grow up and be able to afford to be an adult, but the reality is very different.

Today I watched the new documentary on Netflix called “THE TINDER SWINDLER” and Simon is not a good person, but he has money. The ways that he got money aren’t considered illegal because, even with all the pieces of evidence against him, he wasn’t convicted for misleading women and taking money from them. There are many Simons out there.

It’s easy to blame them, the victims, but men like Simon know what they are doing and how to find our weak spot. I met a Simon once. He wasn’t pretending to be a billionaire; actually, he didn’t hide that he was broke, but I was 18 years old, naive and wanted to be loved. He knew I didn’t have money, but my parents had, so he used me to get to my mother. My mother had so many issues. He made her love him, and he moved in with us; she used to give him money. We got to a point where he told me he didn’t want to be my boyfriend anymore, but he wasn’t going to leave our house. I was 18…
