Hi, we do have these three types of pensions in the UK. The state pension at the moment would pay me around £800 per month (when I am 68 years old), which is little (and probably will be even worse then due to inflaction), but if you don't pay rent is doable for frugal people. My workplace pension, me and the company I work for contribute every month, but I am not sure how much it will be worth, as I am still figuring it out. And private pension is available for everyone that has money to invest on retirement. I see people mentioning 401K plan in the US a lot, I thought that was the american work pension. But I am sure we will still struggle in the UK as much as you guys in the US. I have been learning that retirement is only good for rich people.
