How To Achieve Your Goals Without Depending on Money
It’s possible to be less dependent on money. It’s a choice.
It’s 19th April 2021, and I have less than £10 in my current account. I am not sad about it. I don’t feel anything about it. I just need to manage to spend less than £10 until the end of the week once I receive my salary. (I have all my bills paid, and I have food in my freezer and pantry. Also, I have a salary coming in soon. So I have more things to be grateful for than not.)
At the same time, I am focused on building my Emergencies Fund, which at the moment is £6,300. I could spend more money this week, but I am choosing not to.
I wouldn’t say I am privileged to have this money, I would say I have been working hard to get my shit together and make good choices every day — my main goal in 2021 is to save money, that’s why I am spending as little as I can.
Having a safety net is very important to me. I want to finish the year with £10,000 in my saving accounts. (Hopefully, more.)
So it makes sense that I need to be less dependent on money to be able to achieve my main goal in 2021.
