How To Break Up With Your Best Friend

It’s possible to make it less messy and crazy. But it will still hurt.

I have broken up with more than one best friend in my life.

First, it’s important to understand what a best friend is.

A best friend is the closest friend you have during a period of time.

Usually, for that period, you do everything together and that’s the person that knows more about what’s going on in your life.

You can have more than one best friend at the same time, and having a best friend doesn’t mean your relationship is going to be healthy.

With one best friend, I remember getting tired of our friendship. We were close, and I still thank her every day for writing my first CV (mentally and from a distance), but she was heavy, the type of heaviness you get from life hardship, and she was envious of how naive I was about life. Ignorance is a blessing sometimes. I felt something was off, and I just stopped meeting her. And eventually talking.

The break-up with two other best friends came at my 23rd birthday party. Something happened that day that almost 10 years later I still don’t know what. One stopped answering my calls, and the other one I decided to stop talking to because I felt she was the reason that…
