Is Will Smith Wrong or Right? Oscars 2022

Well, it’s more than a matter of being wrong or right.

First of all, my first ever celebrity crush was Will Smith. I used to dream about him. I loved him. Nowadays, not so much, even before the Oscars 2022. I have lost all energy to give love to celebrities because we don’t know them, we know the image that they show to the world, but there are no guarantees that it’s their true self.

Even we, as normal human beings, have one facade to the world and another one to our home life. For some, they are very different; for others, they are pretty similar.

At the Oscars 2022, Will slapped Chris Rock in the face after seeing that his wife was hurt by his comment regarding her bald head. She has a medical condition that makes her loses her hair. We can’t deny that we all have been there. We all had the desire to slap someone in the face when they say something hurtful to us, and in some cases, even more to someone that we love. But the problem was that Will Smith did that in front of the world and in a professional environment.

First, Will Smith was laughing at the “joke”, but then when he saw that Jada didn’t like the comment, he decided to attack Christ physically. And he leaves the stage proud of what he has just done. And then he shouts twice to Chris to not mention his wife’s name.

A nice way to resolve this would be Will goes to the stage, asks for the microphone and says: Chris, I would like you to apologise to my wife, Jada. You exposed her in front of the world, and now I am doing the same to you. It’s not funny to make a joke about someone’s medical condition as you haven’t been in our shoes to know what we have been dealing with. To all people that are struggling with alopecia, you are not alone. Also, it would be nice if you give a donation to the cause. Thank you, and you can go on.
