It’s Okay Not To Be Ready For 2022

We are all trying the best we can.

In 13 days, we will welcome 2022, and I confess that I am not ready for it. I think nobody is. Now my worries are around Christmas. I am doing everything I can not to get Covid-19 and still be able to celebrate Christmas how I planned.

My partner and I even cancelled all our plans before Christmas. From today until the 25th, we plan to stay at home as much as possible and just go outside to do what is necessary: go for long walks and get groceries.

I never liked the start of a new year; I have always felt a lot of pressure to be a new person at the new year, which makes us fail before even starting it. On the first of January of 2022, I am not going to be a new person; I will still be the tired woman navigating a new world, a world still facing a pandemic.

This also makes me have very little expectation for 2022. Things won’t be very different from 2021, but things will be okay as long as I can keep my job. And even at my job, things are changing, as I have finished a long project and another one will start.
