Let’s Focus More On How To Be Ourselves and Less On How To Fit In
Embrace your uniqueness. It’s the only way.
Most of us spend a lifetime trying to fit in. I know that because I always wanted to fit in when I was a child, a teenager and even now as an adult.
First, at school, as a child, I never felt like I belonged. I didn’t have many friends. Then, again at school, but now as a teenager, I never felt like I belonged, and my friends also didn’t follow the standard. And as an adult, I have been struggling to fit in every single day.
And when you have a lifetime of struggling to fit it, it gets tiring, and one day you decide that you don’t need to fit in the first place.
It’s a process to learn how to be yourself and stand up for yourself when necessary.
It’s not easy feeling like a black sheep because no matter what you do, you aren’t the same as other people (at least you don’t feel the same as other people), and you need to accept that.
Accept that being different doesn’t make you worse than other people.
