Most of Us Are Living Double Lives

There is our reality, and there are our dreams. They don’t seem to sync.

It’s 2021, and we are almost done with one more year of our lives. To be fair, this year has been much better for me than 2020 was. I started 2020 without a job and was clueless about how I was going to make money. I was also single and craving a healthy romantic relationship.

Because I was doing therapy, I managed to get myself together, get a job that allows me to have a healthy work/life balance, save money (with struggle), and meet my partner, who now I live together in a much better flat.

Although I was able to better my life, and I am in a much better place than before, I am not living my dream life, and I am far from it. It feels like no matter how hard I try; my dream life is very unreachable.

On Social Media, I see phrases like this: “Only you can turn your dreams into a reality, and you have everything you need to make it happen.” And I am sorry, but this is a lie.

OK, we can’t deny that willpower is very important to change someone’s life for the better; I know because I needed to keep going and doing the best I could in 2020 to be where…
