What Is Still Wrong With Carrie and Mr Big’s Relationship

To my delightful surprise, yesterday was the 9th of December and the premiere day of And Just Like That… The new series of Sex and The City. To my shock, which I am still recovering from, they kill Mr Big at the end of the first episode.

Everyone was worried about what state we would find Carrie and Mr Big’s Relationship, and I was happy to see that they were happy. But then, a couple of hours later, already in bed getting ready to sleep, I realised that they were happy because Carrie was still compromising her life’s choice for him, while he wasn’t. Their relationship never changed, and it’s still not healthy. We see him happy doing what he likes to do, cooking, listening to old records, drinking and smoking his cigar.

The essential thing in a healthy relationship is to be able to compromise, and Mr Big never learned how to do it.

In this first episode, Charlotte wants Carrie and Miranda to see her daughter’s piano concert, which she has been training a whole year to perform. The show is on a Thursday, but Carrie had plans to go to the Hamptons with Mr Big on Wednesday evening. She wants to go with him, but she also knows…
