The New 007- James Bond: A Black Woman
Is the world changing? Or do they want us to think that things are changing?
Disclaimer: First of all, I would like to say that I am not a James Bond fan and that if I have seen other James Bond’s movies, I probably forgot all about them. But, I do understand the cultural importance of James Bond.
Last Saturday, I went to the movies for the first time since the Pandemic. I went to see the new James Bond movie. I found it a bit confusing, but I wanted to write about “the new 007 agent being a black woman”.
In the movie, No Time To Die, Lashana Lynch plays ALREADY the new 007 agent Nomi. Daniel Graig comes back as a retired agent and assumes his last mission. He also dies in this movie. But because James Bond’s movies are so unrealistic, anything could happen.
Daniel Graig could do another movie, we never know, Nomi could not be the new 007 agent, and they could find another actor or actress to play the role. Honestly, ANYTHING can happen.
What the movie industry gets wrong about diversity and inclusivity is that they think that just by placing a black woman in the movie, things are already fixed. Well, the role is much deeper.
