Time: The Most Important Thing In Our Lives That Most Of Us Still Take For Granted
It’s a process, and we just need to show up every single day.
In April 2021, I challenged myself to walk 10,000 steps every day. I managed to do it. At the time, I didn’t have a smartwatch that would make my life much easier and my step tracking more accurate, so I used my phone.
Walking 10,000 steps per day takes time if you don’t have a place to be. I remember that at the time, I needed to go for two daily walks across my local park to get a coffee (I had a coffee membership which made each coffee less than £1).
Since April 2021, I haven’t been able to walk 10,000 steps every day, some days, I walk more, and other days I can barely make it to the 2,000 steps mark. And I know it’s because I haven’t been prioritising walking and giving it time.
Today, for example, I wanted to walk 15,000 steps, but this requires at least one hour and thirty minutes walk (I am not a fast walker), and I just had 40 min available as I had to get other stuff done. So I only walked 6,000 steps. I know I have been bad with time management for a while now, and if I had woken up early, I would be able to walk for longer and achieve my goal.
