We Can Only “Try” To Be Happy
There are no guarantees in life.
Bad things are happening every single day to good people. People that are kind and haven’t done anything terrible to others. We can never forget that. We never know when our lives could change forever (for the worse), we have no control. I try to remind myself of this almost every day to feel grateful for my health and family.
On the other hand, there has been pressure to pursue happiness for many years. Our society is addicted to the concept of being happy, although very little we study or read about happiness.
We seem to forget that not having any problems or anything wrong happening to us should be enough. But we want more. We want everything.
My generation (I am 32 years old) grew-up listening to how we should do something with our lives that made us happy. Maybe that’s the reason that most of us are so unhappy.
Happiness is another thing in life that there is no guarantee. We can do everything right and be unhappy. We can only try to be happy. It’s a tentative and error process. What we think will make us happy, in the end, can have an opposite effect.
