What Does It Mean To Be An Immigrant in 2021?

An immigrant is a person that lives permanently in a foreign country.

Usually, a person does that to live a better life. But in 2021, does this still make sense? In some cases.

Let’s divide all the immigrants into two big groups, the ones that leave their countries because they want and the ones that leave their countries because otherwise, they would die (people from countries that are in wars or are extremely difficult to live at).

For the second group, any country is better than their homes, so it does make sense for them to be an immigrant in 2021, they have no other choice.

But what about me and my fellow immigrants by choice? Are we really living better lives?

In my case so-so.

The biggest promise of leaving your land to a new one was the opportunity to make money.

In the past, that was true but not any more.

In 2021, moving to richer countries doesn’t mean any more chances to make money and become rich.

Now, let’s talk about the Brazilians that leave Brazil.
