What Does It Mean To Be Brazilian?
10 Things you probably don’t know about Brazilians
I am Brazilian, and I am still figuring out what it means to be a Brazilian. I haven’t lived in Brazil for a while now, but I used to be there every year before the Pandemic. Here are some things most Brazilians know to be true, but the world doesn’t. Brazilians, correct me if I am wrong. But I am probably not.
1. Brazilians think that God is Brazilian
Brazilians are pretty egocentric, and they actually do think that God is Brazilian. How could this be different? Look at Brazil, its natural beauty and its resources. Brazilians think that Brazil is the most blessed land in the world. There is even a film called “God is Brazilian”.
2. Brazilians are Japanese
Brazil has the biggest Japanese and descent population outside Japan, even more than the USA. I have lots of Japanese Brazilian friends, some of them I grew up with. Historically, they struggled a lot to adapt to the Brazilian culture, and they usually keep to themselves. I don’t blame them. I find this fascinating because who would imagine it? This all started with the Japanese Immigration to Brazil in 1906.
