What Makes A Country A Good Place To Live?
The main reason I moved to the UK was to live a better life. I am really not sure if I am. Compared to Brazil, the UK is indeed a much better country to live in, but still the UK has many flaws. Before moving to the UK, I lived in Canada, which was recently elected as The Best Country to live in 2021. I can’t deny that sometimes I wish I was there.
One of the main reasons that made me move away from Brazil was its lack of security. You can’t walk with your laptop peacefully there. It will be taken from you for sure no matter where you are and what time it’s. (They could probably take your life as well.)
As a writer, walking with my laptop everywhere is a priority, because any sit-down opportunity can be used to work. I couldn’t do that there. But… it’s also getting harder to do it here. London is getting more and more dangerous every day and I don’t feel safe taking my computer away from home. It’s my most important possession… (Am I not sure if this is happening in Canada, probably not…)
While security is something that still bothers me, as a 31 years old woman, I now worry about other things related to this main question: what type of future my unborn children are going to have? This is all I care about.
Children are the future of any nation, and I want my children to live in the best country…
