When Do You Know It’s Time To Change?

Most people had big hopes for 2021. I didn’t. I knew in my core that 2021 was going to be pretty much similar to 2020, but now we know what is really going on. For me, Corona is here to stay.

For the past year, I have been the best I can be to adapt. First, I was jobless and on benefits. I didn’t know for how long I was going to be able to afford to live in London. I could have moved back home (to live with my parents in Brazil) but I didn’t. I couldn’t deal with such a big change.

After a long time searching for a job and spending as little money as possible to make end meets, I finally got a job. And for the past almost 6 months, I have been working as a full-time writer. I can’t say I am comfortable now, but I can afford my life here in London without any help and I have been able to work on building my Emergencies Fund again (today, I have £6,300 on my savings).

Even though I have adapted my lifestyle and behaviours according to my external circumstances (a pandemic and unemployment), I have been having difficulty to do big changes. I have managed pretty well small changes, but I am having a hard time with big changes.

I moved countries more than once, I ended a marriage, but it seems like I can’t do big moves anymore. I am not happy where I live, but I am too scared to move. I am happy with my new…
