Why It’s So Important To Live In A Place You Love — And Most of Us Can’t Afford It.

The most important thing for a human being is their home, where they live, because this defines everything else around their lives, who they know, what type of resources they have, how well they sleep, how they are connected with “the world” and much more.

Living in bad conditions can increase mental health issues and affect negatively all the other areas of someone’s life. If you don’t live well, you probably will have problems sleeping, then working, then making money, and then having to afford a better place… It’s a cycle of being stuck in an unhealthy reality.

After the pandemic, it was clear that people weren’t in the same boats. While the rich people were quarantining in comfortable houses, poor people were quarantining in shoe boxes, if they were a bit luckier, alone (which was my case).

I know how lucky I am to have my own little shoebox in London with my own kitchen and bathroom even more because I know people that spend the same amount of money I do and don’t have even their own bathroom (sharing it with people they don’t know). And these are people with full-time jobs. But that’s the reality of London.

It’s funny to call myself a poor person, but that’s the truth because I can’t afford what most people can or that I…
