Why Living One Day at A Time Is Not Enough

Are you just trying to live day by day, but still don’t feel well? Here is why.

Since the pandemic’s beginning in March 2020 (London/UK), I have been living on a mantra. I take one day at a time, and I just plan what I need to do that week.

I have been successful in avoiding feeling anxious about the future. But after more than a year living with this mantra in mind, I found myself depressed. Although this mantra was enough to control my anxiety levels, it wasn’t enough to prevent my depression.

Most of us, at the moment, are living a narrowed version of life. We can’t make plans of travelling, which is even worse when you live in another country without your family or your closest friends and rely on travel dates to control your emotions of missing them. And we couldn’t go out as much as before, and even if you can go out now, the pandemic made us broke, and now we can’t spend any more money on things that aren’t strictly necessary.

It doesn’t matter that you are just living one day at a time if this day is badly lived because then, you will just have a succession of bad days and not the perspective of good days.
